Privacy Policy

Data Collection

StacTab does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data whatsoever. The extension operates entirely within your browser with no outbound connections.

• No personal information is collected
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports sent to any server
• No identifiers, cookies, or fingerprinting
• No data is ever sent outside your device

Local Storage Only

The only data StacTab stores is your tab archive — sessions you explicitly save to the Workspace Vault. This data is stored exclusively via chrome.storage.local, which means:

• Data lives only in your browser on your device
• It is never synced to Google servers or any third party
• You can clear it at any time from Chrome's extension storage settings
• Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data

Network Requests

StacTab makes zero network requests. It does not communicate with any external server, API, or service — ever. All tab management, grouping, deduplication, and archiving happen entirely within your browser using built-in Chrome extension APIs.

Permissions

StacTab requests only the minimum permissions required for its core functionality. Here is what each permission is used for:

• tabs — read tab titles and URLs to enable search, grouping, and deduplication
• tabGroups — create and manage Chrome tab groups by domain
• storage — save your Workspace Vault sessions locally via chrome.storage.local
• contextMenus — add right-click menu options for quick tab actions

Analytics & Tracking

There are no analytics tools, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or third-party scripts of any kind embedded in StacTab. The extension contains only its own code — no external libraries are loaded at runtime.

Third Parties

StacTab has no relationship with any third party services. No data is shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third party. The extension does not integrate with any external platforms.

Children's Privacy

StacTab does not collect any data from anyone, including children. Because no personal information is collected, there are no special considerations needed for users of any age.

Changes to This Policy

If the privacy policy ever changes in a meaningful way, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect that change, and the update will be noted in the extension's release notes on GitHub. Given that StacTab is designed to collect no data, significant changes to this policy are not anticipated.
